SUGAR KELP GROWN EXCLUSIVELY FOR VESSL ON OUR PROTECTED, FREE-FLOWING FARM
From seed to skin, using delicate hands and trust for the ocean’s own bounty, we carefully grow all our Sugar Kelp — Saccarina lattissima — within protected water on our free-flowing farm. The result is a very tender, soft & light blade where over 80% of the plant is made up of essential minerals, vitamins, and other bioactive compounds.
Our farm, COPPS ISLAND, is located above a natural reef, south of the Norwalk Islands off the Coast of Connecticut, known for its natural biodiversity both on land and under water.
It is here – seed to skin – we grow our our Sugar Kelp, Saccarina lattissima. The result is a very tender, soft & light blade where over 80% of the plant is made up of essential minerals, vitamins, and other bioactive compounds.
From start to finish, this antioxidant-rich plant grows as nature intended – left completely undisturbed – absorbing sunlight and nutrients from the cold, deep waters. NO chemicals or fertilizers are ever used as the plant flourished in its protected, free-flowing marine environment.
We hand-harvest using small boats, and within hours our Sugar Kelp is naturally air-dried and used exclusively in our products.
Throughout the entire process, water quality is regularly monitored and samples of Sugar Kelp are sent out for testing. Each harvest is issued a unique Certificate of Analysis, as well as a Chain of Custody Certificate.
This careful process ensures the highest-quality product, from our farm to your skin.
